Optimist Coach Clinic Successfully Held in Serbia
A three-day Optimist Coach Clinic was successfully hosted in Serbia, bringing together coaches from across the region for an inspiring and collaborative learning experience.
Led by Head Coach Dragan Gasic, the clinic was organized in cooperation with Macedonia and Montenegro, serving as a fantastic example of regional collaboration and shared learning within the sailing community. The initiative highlighted the importance of investing in coach education as a direct investment in the future of young sailors and the continued development of the sport.
Throughout the three days, participating coaches engaged in practical on-land sessions and in-depth technical discussions focused on Optimist coaching methodologies. The hands-on format allowed attendees to exchange knowledge, refine techniques, and strengthen cooperation among neighboring nations.
The clinic was hosted by The Sailing Center in Golubac, Serbia, whose support and hospitality contributed greatly to the event’s success.
IODA extends its sincere appreciation to all organizers and participants who made this clinic possible. Special thanks go to Head Coach Dragan Gasic for sharing his expertise and leadership, as well as to the participating coaches from Serbia, Macedonia, and Montenegro for their commitment and enthusiasm.
Investing in coaches means investing in sailors — and ultimately investing in the future of our sport. The success of this clinic reinforces the strength of regional cooperation and IODA’s ongoing commitment to coach development worldwide.
